Social Media is a type of platform. Where  public can share  their life or profession media without any restriction. But we must  obey its policies . Social Media's main job is to connect people with each other. We can't say Spotify and Photoshop a Social Media app.

Is Simple Message App Social Media?

Yes. Cause, it  connect people with each other  to share text or media. Also WhatsApp, Telegram and Messenger are also Social Media.

Is YouTube Social Media?

Yes. Cause, it have feature where everyone can upload videos and these videos are seen by others. Also, it have comment and like feature, which used to communicate with uploader and audience.

Why Spotify is not Social Media?

Because,  public can't upload their own songs  without any legal permit. But you can listen and give feedbacks on songs.
