Convert AC into DC

AC to DC

Difference between AC and DC

Mostly people think that main difference between them is Voltage, but It's not. Main difference between them is continuously changing of polarity by AC current. DC (Direct Current) is programmed to go directly towards the load, but AC (Alternate Current) change it's direction Back and Forth alternatively.

How can we convert AC into DC

To convert AC into DC, we need to build circuit using AC source, Wires, DC load and Diodes. Diode play big rule in conversion. It have a function of one way current following.

Half Wave Rectification

It mean to install one diode in between source and load. So, it will make wave like half cut.

And it's wave is

Full Wave Rectification

It is method to convert the half cropped wave into DC wave. We can do this by two methods.

With Only Diodes

By giving current a easy way toward the one side of load and turn current back to different sides of AC source. Complete diagram is down below.

With Diodes and Taped Transformer

By turning current in wires from one side of load through the transformer.

And there wave will be like:

Full Wave Rectification with Filter

It is the method to convert AC fully into DC. Just rectification can done almost conversion but it will fluctuate the voltage and current. You can see this by changing graph up and down. And we use filter (Capacitor) it will go straight in peak point. Then, it is ready and we can use DC appliances on AC current. Circuit is down below.
